Vegetarian Curry Burgers

A very good alternative for the pre-made burgers in store!

They used to be good....the burgers in store. But i start to believe they are not anymore. Far too salty and i wonder what else they put in it besides soya and all these other things on the label.
For a while i went buying my burgers in the Bio store. They are not that bad....but i could not find the taste i wanted. I like spicy, curry, chili etc.....something asian style. I simply could not find it and i started to think about making those myself.

Lately i bought myself a Food Processor and that gave me so much more possibilities for making something mixed. Cause in the blender you can only mix wet ingredients. So a Food Processor was on my list for some time as you can grind anything. 
I got myself the Kitchenaid 13 cup from Fonq.nl and i believe they have the best price around!

Every saturday i make homemade fries in my Philips Airfryer and we were always struggling what we should eat with that, so i started to make my first burgers last weekend and they were simply delicious! 
How on earth did i only start to make them now? As they were much tastier than from store. Almost like a taste explosion. You can season them in any way you want. Do you want to use spicy curry....you can. Do you want to use soft curry.....you can. You want to add you favorite spice.....you can. So much freedom you get here. it’s a real play garden for me :)
All you need is a food processor.

Antibacterial winter Tea

Since i became more interested in real food, i discovered Ginger!

Ginger is perfect for use in winter, as it keeps you healthy. It has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional/alternative medicine. It has been used to help digestion, reduce nausea and help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few.

Ginger also reduces muscle pain and is perfect for people who exercise. Or for people who have problems with their muscles. Of course, to have some effect, you need to take some ginger every day.
Tummy moaning and groaning under cramps? Munch on ginger and so on......
I use a teapot by BODUM, which i bought from a great store and it can hold just 1 liter of water >> Vt Wonen


1 liter of bottled water
2,5 chunk of Ginger (peeled) 
Some sliced Lemon (peeled)
1 tsp of Manuka Honey 
1 tsp dried Sage.

NOTE : Do not boil your water, but turn off the heat just before it. I add the water and let soak for 15 minutes. Then i remove the middle part of the pot and put the ginger back in. I make sure my tea stays warm with this Tealight holder

Linguine with grilled Pumpkin

Who thought that grilled pumpkin can be so good with pasta?

With looking through my cooking books i came across this recipe and as i still had 1 butternut pumpkin laying around, i decided to make this dish.
I’m used to make my own pasta, so this time it was no difference, i replaced the cutter roller with a Linguine shaped one. It’s that easy.

This recipe comes from "Libelle lekker" which is a monthly magazine in Belgium. I adjusted the recipe a bit though according to what i had laying around.
The fact that there is estragon inside, makes this a very different taste. I really LOVE Estragon, especially in Scampi picante which you can find HERE.

Pancakes sweetened with Wild Flower Honey

Celebrating shorter Nights and longer Days

Tomorrow it is Candlemas (Maria Lichtmis). Which means that the days become longer and the nights shorter. In Belgium we celebrate that with making pancakes. Personally it means that spring is coming soon and i feel it’s so exciting hehehe :)

I want to write a little about food and the best way to get old and look young.

I find it so weird to live in times where the food industry does not take care of our health anymore, but just wants to sell at our life cost. Recently i watched the second part of "Fat, sick and nearly dead”. You can also find it on Netflix. It opened my eyes again that i was not strickt enough with food and especially during the holidays i think many people struggle with healthy eating. Cause all you see in the stores is “unhealthy” processed food. With too much sugar, bad fats and high in calories. I must say i became addicted to bad food again. I did not realize it as much. As i thought now and then something from store is not bad. But it was! It made me addicted again to sugar  My skin was drying out and looked so mat and uneven. This was not good!
